Experimental notes

These experiments were performed under continuous operation, with a flowrate of 25 g/min 0.20 mol/l NaOH into the reactor. The indicator dye used was 0.0010 mol/l Rose Bengal, which absorbs the same wavelength light (550 nm) as Phenolphthalein does when in alkaline solution. 1 ml of the dye was injected at the time indicated in the table above. The volume of reactants used was 250 ml.

Notes on the files

The files linked to here are semicolon separated variable files. They can be conveniently opened using Excel or similar programs. Right click the link above and either save it to your own hard drive or open it using Excel. The files have two columns; these show the time and the intensity of light (of wavelength 550 nm) measured by the spectrophotometer.
